When March rolls around every year, college basketball teams across the country know they need to raise their games and so we’re doing the same to level up our gear for athletes and fans. In our latest line of collegiate apparel, we’re proud to continue our partnership with Joseph Girard III and to now include an official, exclusive collection of Clemson Tigers gear!
Patroons Home Opener
The National Basketball League is back and so is our partnership with the Albany Patroons! The 2024 season tipped off at the beginning of March and our custom, on-court player apparel has the Patroons game-ready. NOVUS is rooted in the Capital Region of New York and so we understand the history and passion behind this legendary organization. Our apparel is a nod to the heyday of the Patroons with a fresh perspective on style and comfort for optimal athletic performance.
1:12 Project
On a mission to inspire the world to live a life of passion, conviction and perseverance, the 1:12 Project was launched with our first mission trip to the Dominican Republic. We spent 4 days in a remote village called Banica, where we encountered Christ in the poorest of the poor and shared our passion for the game of baseball. We held three days of baseball camps for ball players from the ages of 8 - 20, but saw hundreds of people come out from the village to share in the joy that was being fostered out on the field. As much as we hoped to make an impact on the locals in Banica, it was seeing their joy that inspires us to bring the same zeal for life in our day to day back home.
Sandlot 7 on 7
We can’t wait to see how the sport of flag football grows and we’re excited to be part of it! NOVUS is already outfitting girls flag football teams in our backyard of New York’s Capital Region, but we’re also humbled to have teamed up with the Sandlot 7v7 Unlimited in Florida. Teaming up with Tommy and Johnny Townsend, former Florida Gator All Americans and NFL Punters, we were able to outfit their kicking clinic as part of the NFLPA’s Sandlot 7v7 Unlimited event.
NEAAU Champions League
Every champion deserves a crown. At NOVUS, we believe in the competitive spirit, focus and sacrifice it takes any team to achieve greatness and be crowned champions. Our opportunity to team up with New England AAU Volleyball is exciting for us to grow even more in this high energy sport. The NEAAU Champions League runs from the end of January through the end of April with teams of 12 to 18-year old female volleyball players from around the Northeast competing for a title. You’ll find our NOVUS gear on NEAAU officials and all league referees. Plus, all of the champions will receive Crown Claimed t-shirts!
Claim Your Crown Spotlight: Team LVC Volleyball
Since 2021, NOVUS has been proud to outfit the athletes of LVC Volleyball, ensuring they have the best gear both on and off the court. Head Coach Chris Hosley attests, "The quality of the product has been huge for us. They’ve done a great job with the volleyball uniforms, the lounge gear, and the day-to-day gear that you can wear on and off the court." It's a privilege to provide top-notch apparel to such a dedicated team, and we're excited to continue supporting them in their journey to greatness.
Women’s History Month
As we celebrate women of all cultural backgrounds and in all professions, it’s possible the spotlight has never been brighter on women in sports. Built on the influence of greats like Billie Jean King, Jackie Joyner-Kersee and the 1999 U.S. women’s soccer World Cup champs, along with today’s superstars, young girls everywhere are encouraged to play sports, be part of a team, compete and strive for even the loftiest of goals. We’re honored to be part of so many female-driven initiatives and to support female athletes and businesses as they all CLAIM THEIR CROWN.
NYSAAA Annual State Athletic Director's Conference
We’re always game for showing off our premium, custom apparel and so the New York State Athletic Administrators Association conference in Saratoga Springs, NY was a perfect opportunity to show high school athletic directors why NOVUS is the best choice for them to outfit their teams and fans. This conference has become an annual event on our company calendar. We’ve been fortunate to make so many meaningful connections with people from across the state, allowing us to grow the NOVUS brand and share our passion for helping others achieve their athletic, professional and personal goals.
NYSHSFCA Football Clinic
A trip to Turning Stone Resort Casino to meet with and learn from high school football coaches across New York State was no roll of the dice; it was a sure bet opportunity for our team at NOVUS to grow with the sport we took big steps towards outfitting in 2023. The New York State High School Football Coaches Association held its annual clinic and convention at the beginning of March and NOVUS attended along with nearly 700 others from the high school and collegiate landscape. Fran Brown, hired as the Syracuse football head coach in November, was the featured speaker on the same night of NYSHSFCA’s awards banquet.
Team Member Spotlight: Dan Jason
Where are you from? I am from Germantown, NY (smalltown in the Catskills). Went to Le Moyne College in Syracuse and played basketball there.
What do you do at NOVUS? Over the years I have had many roles at NOVUS. I began in fulfillment and then had the opportunity to help to build business systems, increase efficiency and processes which led me to become the Director of Operations. Now I am the Director of Logistics and oversee our shipping and fulfillment team, I'm also the Director of NIL and NOVUS Athletes, and a Key Account Executive.
What do you love about what you do? NOVUS has provided the opportunity to lead a mission driven life. Being able to grow into a leadership position and share our core values, being deeply rooted in passion, conviction and perseverance, it is amazing to come to work every day. I am inspired by what we are doing and having the privilege to work with our team to grow a brand that has reached far beyond clothing. I love that custom apparel is a vehicle that has opened up a gateway to impact lives instilling confidence and swagger in athletes who rock the CROWN logo, meanwhile building lasting relationships with organizations nationwide as well. I love the people I get to work with and it's a blast to live out one of my greatest passions—sports, helping build platforms of collegiate and pro athletes to make an impact.
How do you Claim Your Crown? I claim my crown by living a life of great faith and enjoy the journey with those around me. My relationship with Christ is first place. Having overcome great adversity in my journey, our James 1:12 "Claim Your Crown" mantra has been something that has deep personal meaning. From rising early in the morning to crushing daily workouts I am an ALL IN guy. Whether I am at the office, writing my next book, sharing positivity with others, there is purpose and a WHY behind everything I do.
Why NOVUS? NOVUS is the place for me because I believe in what we stand for. I believe in the owners who are the most authentic and faith filled people I know. I am grateful to have been the first guy NOVUS took on board years ago. The culture we have built and the friendships that have grown has been transformative. This company cares about the community because we are people first and we truly desire to make a lasting impact. You know you are in the right place when your personal values are in direct alignment with your professional calling.
