February 2024 NOVUS Newsletter

This month, we're thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our athletes on the grandest stages, from Super Bowl LVIII to collegiate basketball courts. Join us as we applaud the stellar performances of our NOVUS athletes and take a closer look at the various conferences and charitable events we attended this month.

Super Bowl LVIII

NOVUS athletes Harrison Butker, Kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, and George Odum, Safety for the San Francisco 49ers, showcased their talents on the grandest stage. The Chiefs emerged victorious, with Butker's stellar performance stealing the spotlight. He secured the all-time career Super Bowl record with an incredible nine successful field goals. The defining moment came with a 57-yard field goal, surpassing previous records and cementing Butker's legacy as a legendary kicker.

Joseph Girard III Named ACC Player of the Week

NOVUS Athlete Joseph Girard III, guard for the Clemson men's basketball team, has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week. Girard, who played his first four seasons with the Orange, scored his 2,000th career point on his final free throw of the game. He leads the league in free-throw percentage (93.4%) and is second in 3-point shooting (43.9%). Girard is currently 13th in the ACC in scoring at 15.1 points per game.

IBCA Conference

This month, NOVUS attended the Independent College Bookstore Association (ICBA) conference held in Denver. The ICBA champions the independent operation of college stores. The conference allowed us to engage in educational sessions and network with various college campuses, further expanding our reach and impact within the collegiate community.

Capital District Charity Ping Pong Tournament

In the 3rd Annual Charity Ping Pong Tournament, NOVUS demonstrated our commitment to giving back. While victory remained elusive, our participation played a vital role in supporting the Double H Ranch. The tournament successfully raised over $11,000 for various charities. Needless to say, we'll be honing our ping pong skills in preparation for next year's event.

NOVUS Athlete Photoshoots

NOVUS team members journeyed south to capture content featuring some of our crown-claiming NOVUS athletes. From spending time with Joseph Girard III, the point guard at Clemson, to connecting with Christina Wellen, the outfielder for the Charlotte 49ers, and Clay Dimick, the defender for the Charlotte Independence, we captured the essence of passion, conviction, and perseverance that defines the NOVUS brand.

Claim Your Crown Spotlight: Sage College Athletics

NOVUS is proud to outfit the athletes of Sage College in Albany with an assortment of our premium products. From baseball and softball, to men’s and women’s lacrosse, basketball, tennis, field hockey, and soccer, every team is geared up for success.

“We noticed other teams at Sage wearing this great looking new gear. I asked one coach where they got it from and he said it's a place called NOVUS. I reached out and couldn't be happier with our experience,” said Head Lacrosse Coach Ryan Lanigan. “Our team loves the gear. We were able to get the Albany skyline on the back of our pinnies. They customized everything to our liking and we’ll definitely be utilizing them in the future."

We’ll be cheering on the Gators as they continue to claim their crown on the field and in the classroom this year!
